HB 467 HOUSE BILL NO. 467 An Act relating to employees of the legislature who are employed under a personal services contract was read the second time. Senators Duncan, Kelly offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 1, following line 3: Insert a new bill section to read: "* Section 1. LEGISLATIVE INTENT. It is the intent of this Act to increase the flexibility available to the legislature so that legislative employment will be attractive to individuals who do not desire coverage under a state retirement system as part of their compensation package. This Act is not intended to undermine the compensation levels available to most legislative employees, which, under AS24.10.060(c), include membership in the public employees' retirement system." 1998-04-18 Senate Journal Page 3365 HB 467 Page 1, line 4: Delete "Section 1." Insert "Sec. 2." Renumber the following bill sections accordingly. Senator Duncan moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 1. Without objection, Amendment No. 1 was adopted. Senator Taylor moved and asked unanimous consent that the bill be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading and placed on final passage. Without objection, it was so ordered.
